Miko K Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 ... Came out nice! It took a while to align everything, but looks like it will handle the 80HP that the blower consumes off the crankshaft. I just have to put the tensioner on the blower itself and it will be complete. I believe I have the first MPS on a MP112 out there and the INTENSE 2.7" pulley is the smallest I can put on it. Quote
sl3196 Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Isn't the belt hitting the coil packs? Quote
RobertISaar Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the water pump without power? Quote
terryk2003 Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the water pump without power? yes...he doesnt have the serpentine belt on there... Quote
Psych0matt Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Isn't the belt hitting the coil packs? That's to keep tension. Come on, don't be a n3wb! Quote
Miko K Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 I just have to put the tensioner on the blower itself and it will be complete. Yep, it will push the belt down and away from the coil packs. Quote
Pontiac6KSTEAWD Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 What in the holy hell...... Quote
Miko K Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 Well, it isn't anything out of the ordinary- from what I've heard Ed Morad used to throw away his blower belt after every run, the Blowzilla blower just destroyed it. Some diehard blower guys with mustangs and lightnings that have the MP112 or whipple blowers have switched to cog belts to prevent belt slip (pic). Kinda sucks to put a new belt on it, go out for a beating and comeback home to find the whole passenger's side of the engine bay covered with rubber and the belt is about 75% gone... Quote
sl3196 Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 that looks like a lot of fun Ya the car don't look bad either. Quote
Miko K Posted February 5, 2007 Author Report Posted February 5, 2007 Well, didn't feel like starting another thread, so I'll post the pics here. Today, after 18 months since the teardown, I finally dropped the engine back in the car. Next step- making the turbo headers and mounting the liquid intercooler (which I have to buy first) and finally- wiring. Quote

Miko K Posted February 5, 2007 Author Report Posted February 5, 2007 on topic, that car is wicked! off topic, but how did you make the center "grille" between the lights?? do you have any closer/better pics? Thanks, I did the grill thing about 5 years ago, when I didn't have much skills and I actually cut the piece out with an end mill on a dremel tool and made a (the rusty piece) brace on the back that presses the bottom of the grill against the bumper and the top of the grill bolts between the top of the bumper and the header panel. Works allright, but now I need to buy more grill, the GTR badge (I know, I know) screwed the last piece I had. On topic: Check out my cardomain page, I have a few more pics there. Quote
