chadz34 Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 Can someone help me locate the MAP sensor on the 96' DOHC? Quote
digitaloutsider Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 My hackjob '96 intake installation (sorry, Sean ) has two sensors. There's one on the manifold, which is definitely a MAP sensor: And one on the intake arm which I have no idea what it does, or is supposed to do on the '96-'97 motors: Quote
chadz34 Posted January 31, 2007 Author Report Posted January 31, 2007 Thanks! Um, the sensor I have looks liek the one in the second pic! Thanks alot. Quote
Andrew Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 what the hell? why is there one on the intake arm too? it cant measure manifold pressure can it? The one is the first pic seems right to me, of course the only lq1 ive seen was my ole 91 Z. the second one looks like a MAF. weird GM, just weird. Quote
chadz34 Posted February 1, 2007 Author Report Posted February 1, 2007 Well, I got my MAP sensor on, you know I borke the old one and it got stuck inside the arm.. I got it out though, thank god for plyers.....and I put my EVAP sensor on too, good night for thr Lumina. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 what the hell? why is there one on the intake arm too? it cant measure manifold pressure can it? I guess it's not really that important since the MAF is what's determining the fuel being sent in. Quote
5speedz34 Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 The MAF on the plenum is where its at on the 91-95 3.4's. The true 96's get it on the intake arm.... Quote

digitaloutsider Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 WTF do they need a MAF for? They're speed density, aren't they? Quote
