Probably, I always see the 283 V8 in Nova SS's when they're stock show cars. I'm willing to bet not many people ordered the I6, or kept it in there for a long time. THat's gotta be a slug

I'd say! Here's a link to one:

http://people.smu.edu/acambre/nova/novadaube67/novadaube67.html

Apparently only 194cid = 3.1L or so. Isn't that pretty small for an I-6? In 1963, the I-6 was the ONLY available engine! I'll bet they're pretty rare, because most people don't remember that there was ever a SLOW SS.

I'm pretty sure any of the bigger cars in 1960's that got a I6 had a 230ci or 235ci rated at like 140-150HP.

Damn, Penny took the Cutlass convertible over an Eldorado? Hmm. I guess different people have different tastes. Personally I'd take the Eldorado, though the Cutlass convertible was probably one of the nicest W-Body coupes around.

The CTS is too boxy for me. If they designed it to look like a baby Seville it wouldn've been nice. They also should've thrown a more powerful engine in it.

I do like the STS and Eldo. I have a 1:18 scale STS on my desk at work.

They look a bit dated, but that's probably why I like them. I don't think I'd buy myself one though, just because there are many other cars that I like better. I had thought about buying Penny a black Eldo until she decided she must have a Cutty convertible.

I hate the CTS. It's fugly. :puke: Honestly, I have looked at many of them and I don't see at all why anyone would like it. There is not one angle or view of the CTS that I find even remotely aesthetically pleasing.

Yeah, she likes Cutlass Supremes. She likes how they look slightly better than the Eldo. She also liked the fact that the digital gauges cluster can fit a 94 Cutty (even though I haven't put one in yet). No digital cluster available for Eldorado, and it's also a 4-gauge wonder. Plus, she HATES fake wood, and Caddy's are garnished quite liberally with fake wood. She doesn't care about the engine since her previous '88 Cutty's 2.8L V6 was good enough for her, so the Northstar wasn't something she was real interested in.

Lastly (and most importantly), her Cutty convertible cost $3000 while it's hard to find a decent 92+ Eldo for $3000.

The GTO isn't supercharged its a N/A LS1. And to the claims that they "upped" the HP to 340, thats BS. It always was that and more in ALL the cars they put it in. Most F-Bodies dyno over 300 at the rear wheels - that is exactly what corvettes put down and the same as what the GTO will do.

As far as the CTS - IMHO its the only good looking car in the GM fleet other than the Corvette. IMHO the GTO looks like a frickin grand prix/taurus, which looks like a cheap rental car (sorry to the newer GP guys - I love the car but hate the looks). I don't understand why people hate a car that has any angular looks to it. oh well - we all have different opinions. CTS is my Fave!!!

You're on crack. :joke:

A car with an angular look is about as attractive as a girl with a mysterious crotch bulge.

The GTO is beautiful, and the 97-03 GP's are pretty darn good looking too. Cars should be sleek and curvy, like women.

Thats pretty funny  Even though as you can tell from my avator I dont really mind if my car is a transexual

I agree that the CTS is ugly along with just about every other car being built today, with exeption of Corvettes and Jaguars 8). I like the new GTO for what it is but does it have to look like every other Pontiac, I could easily get it confused for a newer Grand Prix.

I've never driven an Eldorado, though I'm sure it would be a very nice experience. The Eldorado has a 4 gauge instrument cluster? That really blows. You'd expect something like Caddy to be fully loaded with a full 7 gauge cluster. Tachometer, speedometer, oil pressure, oil temp, voltage, fuel and engine temp.

I too hate fake wood, although the fake "Rosewood" trim on my '91 Regal GS is much better than the fake "Oak" on my previous W-Body, an '89 Regal Limited coupe. I always thought the Caddy's had real wood rather than the fake stuff. I'm not sure about the latest Caddy's though.

The only way Penny would find an Eldorado for $3,000 is if it was missing the Northstar. :)

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and I don't think any of us could really agree on one certain style. I think Shawn's tastes are similar to mine, except I do like one specific G-Body. :)

The C5 Corvette is probably the most beautiful vehicle amongst all of GM's cars. I'm not saying this because I've always loved the Y-Body, but I really like the design in and out. My only problem is the ass end is a little bit on the high and wide side. Other than that it's great. Hell you can slap a Buick emblem on it and call it a "Buick Bengal" and I still would've liked it.

Personally I don't like the GTO either. To me this is anther ruined name. Monte Carlo, Impala and now the GTO. To me a GTO is the big-block monster you seen on "Two-Lane Blacktop". I'm talking about a lopey idling big-block V-8 under the hood, a four speed tranny and rear wheel drive. You are right though, the GTO looks like the results of a Grand Prix being raped by a Taurus.

I don't like the CTS too much though, it looks a little "weird" for my taste. I do like the current STS though. I know everyone will probably hate me for saying this but I also like the Escalade and Escalade EXT. Not because you see them in all those "gangsta" videos, but I think they look rather unique. They are a rip-off though, you're probably better off with a Yukon Denali. I would like to see what the new E/K-Body will look like for the '05-'06 STS. Hopefully it'll be rear wheel drive.

Ha ha ha! That's hilarious man. Seriously though, stay away from chicks with dicks!

Sleek and curvy, yes! Don't remind me about a woman's body, because my girlfriend has lost lots of weight but she's still fat.

I don't like the GTO, but the '97-'03 Grand Prix in GT and GTP trim look great in my opinion. The SE models looked like crap.

I'm pretty sure that in either 2001 or 2002, the 4 door GP SE went to the GT look. It lost that ugly front fascia and went to the GT fascia, and came standard with the aluminum rims and rear spoiler.

yep. thank god. it happened in either 01 or 02 i forget. those gen 3 SEs were hideous. amazing how much the placement of a grille up or down 5 inches, gfx, and a tiny spoiler make (tho GTs and GTPs could come without it one i think)

in nowadays time, your lucky to find a car with a 3.8 v6. i think the car world has gone to the SHITS!!! where honda civics think they are fast and pretty much the only car you can get with a v8 costs around 50,000!!! but hey its worth it if you ask me, you buy a brand new Corvette zo6 and you got almost anything beat on the streets, im surprised more people dont buy silverado's and sierra's, flip the axels, tub them out and make them into mean street machines, i bet they would be pretty fast, kinda big though...
