97loudcut
ValentineOne Don't have one.. but I hear nothing compares. Used to have a top of the line 12 band Cobra... it still sucked.
slick
Escort 8500 X50 is one of the top also. But, in all reality, cops have the technology to overcome these. I'm waiting for 91GPSTE to chime in about this.
Q-Ball
It's not like your car is very fast anyways. I've always though about one. That would be something last on my list though.

Andrew
http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=9090 WOW i never thought i'd see the day a BEL equalled a Escort. and its laser jammer(a separate item) is $150 cheaper! Thanks for that link Chris.

Grand Moff Joseph
I have an Escort Passport 8500XP. Awesome range, excellent features, and very easy to use. Even with 'city mode', I can easily get 1/2 mile warnings on most anything, and on highway mode, the warning usually gets to 3/4 mile minimum, and I have seen over 1.5 mile warnings on open road. IMO, this is way more detector for the money than a V1. Let me say, I am not a speeder...I try not to ever go five over any speed limit - I have a fuzz buster simply to avoid getting ass-raped by Barney Fife for doing 32 in a 30. CuttySup
I've got a Cobra XRS9500. I think its pretty good. It picked up a cop from over a mile away the other day.
jeremy
over my years of driving, I have learned that a CB radio in the car is normally more effective the any radar detector (at least when traveling on the hwy)

I don't think the staties or cops hang out on the Citizen's Band channels anymore.

Grand Moff Joseph
over my years of driving, I have learned that a CB radio in the car is normally more effective the any radar detector (at least when traveling on the hwy) This is indeed true. You can also help the truckers out by flashing your brights at them after you pass up a parked cop. Yeah, but you gotta buy a decent one that does digital trunking. I don't think the staties or cops hang out on the Citizen's Band channels anymore. I was referring to the fact that on most major hwys the truckers call out cops and their locations constantly....
