ryan.h Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 I don't understand this... Right turn signal works fine. Left turn signal clicks, but the dash lights stay off, and looks like the outside lights stay off too. Does this mean I have a bulb out somewhere? Quote
Dark Ride Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 probably a bad switch, i just pull the switch back a touch and it seems to work for me. Quote
3pt1lumina Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 I have to hold mine up or pull it back for it to work on my 90 Lumina... On my 97 Lumina, the left doesn't cancel...so I have to shut it off manually after every turn. You'll get used to it. :-P Quote
ryan.h Posted January 31, 2007 Author Report Posted January 31, 2007 But why would the blinker click if it were a bad switch? Seems like if it's clicking at all, that means the switch is good! Quote
Supreme Cutlass Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 But why would the blinker click if it were a bad switch? Seems like if it's clicking at all, that means the switch is good! No, the contacts are worn out on the switch. I fixed mine not too long ago. Quote
ryan.h Posted January 31, 2007 Author Report Posted January 31, 2007 No, the contacts are worn out on the switch. I fixed mine not too long ago. In order for the turn signal flasher to click, power has to be flowing through it... If the contacts weren't connecting, there would be no power, right? Quote
DiscoStudd Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 Been there, done that. Your switch is most definitely bad. What's your car's year, make, and model? If it's 94+, visit: http://tss.likeabigdog.com On my 97 Lumina, the left doesn't cancel...so I have to shut it off manually after every turn. You haven't read my write-up, yet? I have instructions on how to replace the canceling springs. http://tss.likeabigdog.com Quote
Psych0matt Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 burned out bulb? i know mine doesnt work on the right, but thats because theres a broken circuit. i know where it is and fixed it temporarily, but i havent bothered to fix it again, since it shows up on the HUD anyways. Quote

As soon as I take it out this spring I am going to fix it. I just don't have the time now. I'm sure I'll be PM'ing you asking "help! how do I do this?" haha. Quote

Crimson Fury Z Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 my connections are toast, but i replaced the section of the switch that the lever goes into. i still need the housing/connection part(got mixed up when asking for the part), but this may hold the key to my cc problem. have to test it out on the way to work.
