ripp Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Help !! My 94 cutlass has very little air out put . When fan is on high the air flow seems to come out like it is on low. I put in a new blower motor same thing !!!!! Quote
Dark Ride Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 I had this problem, there was a mouse nest in my heater box, took it out, problem solved. Or the plastic air box could been broken. Quote
DiscoStudd Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 The fins on the outside of your evaporator core need to be cleaned out. Pull out your fan motor and reach your hand up into the airbox to "feel out" the evaporator. The go up there with some aerosol degreaser (get something that's not water based so it'll evaporate quickly) and an old toothbrush and lightly scrub the core (go in the direction of the fins, you don't want to bend 'em.) Be sure you put some rags or old towels on your carpet, 'cause you're going to make a mess... Quote
ripp Posted January 29, 2007 Author Report Posted January 29, 2007 cleaned it out got better airflow now. but now have low heat temp!! Quote
Dark Ride Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 my first post was kinda pointless, sorry if you are having low heat output then your heater core maybe plugged. The easiest way I know to check is wait til the car is partially warmed up and touch the output side, not the side that comes from the water pump, the side that goes to the thermostat. If its not very hot then your heater core is probably plugged. Quote
ripp Posted January 29, 2007 Author Report Posted January 29, 2007 i had hot heat but no air flow now i have air flow and no heat Quote
JakeMetz63 Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Does the engine temperature reach proper temperatures? It is January and you do live in Michigan so maybe you just need to give it some time to warm up. Quote
rockfangd Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 could be your blower motor gone bad. or your heater resistor. Quote
ripp Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 blower motor is good have not looked at the resistor Quote
