So i have a white 97 grand prix se (w/ series II 3800) and think it looks to plain so i wanted to upgrade and maybe find some gt body parts and maybe some gtp engine parts/ an engine. My engine has 277 xxx kms on it and im wondering weather it is worth it to try putting those engine parts on the engine or just find an engine to swap into there?

Do you know anything about the L32 and L67? Im not trying to insult or sound rude, just curious if you know anything about these engines.

Its not as simple as "putting those engine parts on the engine" in order to make your L36 faster. With that many KMs I would go with a whole new engine/transmission.

I know alittle about the engines but not a lot and i think it will be easier and better to put a different engine in instead. thanks for the tips i appreciate the help.

actually its not AS hard as you make it out to be. ZZP does make the L36 m90 kit

But why bother with that? for a bit more, you can turbo!

I say if its running good, turbo it and run it til it blows. Then buy a race block from Intense and have ZZP rebuild the trans.

or you can just buy a brand new L32 from GmPartsDirect for $3500. have the trans rebuilt and install new tq converter with it. then your good to go!

He's got the 4T60, I don't think it's going to stand up to that much abuse before it finally gives out.

he does? he's got the l36, ive always thought they had the 4t65e. i thought only the 3.1 got the 4t60e in 97??

another idea buddy is to just sell your car and buy a gtp. it would save a ton of hassle, you'd have a quicker more fun to drive car, and it would be only a couple grand more then what you sell your current car for.

That sounds like the best idea there. While the swap isn't incredibly hard....that 277xxxkm body/chassis is gonna kill ya in the long run.

Only the L67 and LQ1 got the 4T65E in 1997.
