How do I disable the EVAP system?

I want to temporarily disable my EVAP(Evaporitve Emmisions) system on my 2.8 Cutty. The reason being to check and see if it's faulty, and causing my engine to run rich/receive extra gas.

 

One person on another board said I can just unplug the vacuum line that comes out of the throttle body and goes all the way to the charcoal canister, and just put a plug in it's place to prevent vacuum from leaking.

 

Can anyone verify this?
