CNBZ34
So, I finished last night and my Z runs better than it ever has. Idle is baby butt smooth, accelleration is awesome and so far, ZERO stalling! Car overall runs Fantastic! By installing a brand new set of stock flow rate ACCEL injectors that have a different cone shaped spray pattern, cleaning the plenum and restoring the EGR function, plus added a new EGR valve, the car runs the way it's supposed to. I even got pinched by a county sherriff last night on my test drive. He noticed that my hands were very dirty so it was obvious that my story was not bullshit, he let me off with a warning. Thank god he didn't ask how much beer I drank while working on the car. All told, this round cost me about $
slick
Ouch. I knew the earlier modeled 3.4's had an injector issue, but I thought that most all of them had been fixed by now.
GIANT MOTH
What year is your ride? Do you have a digital EGR? I've ripped apart my EGR and cleaned the hell out of it. Once in awhile I'll check it and its been staying clean but its an older model so I dunno how them new ones hold up. And the fuel injectors sound bad ass. I'd like to compare your gas bills. He's already replaced AND cleaned the egr ports to his intake plenum. The injectors were known to be faulty on the early years of the 3.4. Replacing them with aftermarket, like he did, or the later style fixes this driveability issue.
GIANT MOTH
RIGHT!!! I see it now. The money pit. I haven't really paid attention to that part of this forum but 92 is definately not digital EGR.

GIANT MOTH
Yeah I want a 3.4DOHC. Wish I had one but then again there's V6's out there that have dropped to 2.0L and have significant increased HP. Oh wait. I'm living in a fantasy world. CNBZ34
Yes, It is the digital EGR valve. $215. I did find that Schucks sells them for $199 tho. Knowing what I do about this system, the car flat will not run right with out it. What a PITA cleaning the passage tho. Patience and a piece of steel wire and a long pair of needle nose. a few cans of brake clean. eventually all the crud came outa there. Also replaced the turnsignal switch yesterday morning. Not too bad to do. I did treat myself to a new grant wheel. My stock one was brittle and starting to fall apart on the top. It looks nice. Feels pretty good too. Would liked to have had a 15" but couldn't find one so I settled for a 14" Pics will follow. Thanks for the Kudos on the repair too! I posted a couple pics of my car in the members ride section under the Lumina/Monte pics. It's on page 6 of the thread. I need to take some updated pics. GIANT MOTH
Was this EGR valve the stock model or did you modify your plenum or plate to adapt to the modern EGR valves? I was never sure if that would be possible because of OBD although I think I remember reading some kind of modification. The reason of interest is the theory that modern EGR valves do not need to be cleaned or replaced as often if at all.

GIANT MOTH
I know nothing. All I know is that my line changed like 3 years down the road and probably from there on too. Their smaller and not as clunky and a more modern day OBII component which is a joke to whats around the corner.
