Jcrow
The problem is when I pull out of the driveway (sometimes) it stalls when trying to put it in drive. Also (sometimes)if I let it idle to warm up it will load-up and you have to rev it up to run smooth. here are my ideas- I have '98 3100 fuel injectors and im pretty sure one is leaking because if you do a hot re-start it will rev a little bit as it burns the leaked fuel Also the injectors are 17#/hr rather than 15#/hr So I think its to rich in open-loop. In closed-loop the BLM is 100. So its right on the edge of the computer being able to compensate. I changed plugs 6months ago and it was good for a while, then I changed them last week and it still has issues. The plugs looked rich. So I am thinking about getting some 15 #/hr accels (I havent heard the best about them but there a lot cheaper for 6) But now I'm not sure if its the fuel injectors- I was poking at the egr valve last night while it was idling and then it ran fine, it didnt load up or run rough. So maybe its the EGR? That EGR valve costs almost as much as the injectors. Also On the rear exhaust manifold, the gasket fell out and it is leaking on one cylinder. Would this be enough to let in fresh air to fool the O2 sensor into thinking the engine is lean? Maybe this is why the plugs are rich? gp90se
Start with the exhaust leak, which prolly killed the o2, which is fowling plugs/causing it to run poorly. IMO, 2# difference wont make much of a difference to the ECU, but lots of people will argue that. fresh air into the system before the o2 causes all kinds of problem. Jcrow
Ok I got the exhaust manifold leak fixed. I also found the EGR valve is shot, sometimes it leaks. Also the reading on the internal sensor was wacky. I replaced that. Then I broke all the stupid black plastic vacuum lines so I am running new lines everywhere. I ve been working in that 2 inch hole behind the motor all weekend. Hopefully it runs good when im done. At least it will sound better w/o that exhaust leak. Jcrow
So it runs awesome now! The EGR and Exhaust manifold gasket was the problem. After driving for few days it just seems to run smoother and more powerful than I ever remember. I also had to replace the whole exhaust
