White93z34
assuming that you have an automatic, you have a 4t60e. a trans from a 3.1 cutlass would be a 4t60 - not compatible. best bet for interchangeability is a 91-93 3.4 lumina, grand prix or cutlass supreme a 94 trans can work but i know a lot of the electronics have to be changed over. The Master
If you go to the Lumina page it says 125C. (W-body main page, the cars, 1990-1994 Chevy Lumina 2-door). Is this a typo that should be changed? Phil is your transmission 3 or 4 speed? Does it have overdrive?
3WH12-96
how come no one has voted yet??
digitaloutsider
It's a 4T60E. That's all the LQ1's ever came with as far as an automatic goes. The 125C was never mated to the LQ1.
Euro
If you go to the Lumina page it says 125C. (W-body main page, the cars, 1990-1994 Chevy Lumina 2-door). Is this a typo that should be changed? Phil is your transmission 3 or 4 speed? Does it have overdrive? the 125C was only used in 90 IIRC. It was the base tranny for the 3.1 aside from the 4T60. Every 3.1 after 90 got the 4T60, til late 93 when they got the 4T60E. since his trans is the 4T60E, its the 4 speed with over drive. And IIRC, isnt the normal 4T60 without overdrive? 3WH12-96
no the 4 in 4t60 means four speed

I was looking for a 93 3.1 ecm, and it had the 92 down ecm. so I thnk the 125c was still alive and well. (unless it is a different tranny?) the tranny is a 4t60e the non E 4t60 was never couples to the LG1, as said. I suspect a 93 3.1 4t60-e transmission would work fine, if that were all you could find. BIGBULS
Be aware that you'll need to get an LQ1 4T60-E. LHO powered cars had a 3.33 FDR vs the LQ1's 3.43, and with their trans in place, your car will be shortshifting even more than it already does since the shifts are mph based (which will combine with the longer gearing to make it SLOW).
