Chinski Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 What it the idle re-learn procedure? I was working on my car and had the battery unhooked, and of course my car forgot how to idle. It is kind of coming back, it idles fine if I havent been moving, but if I come to a stop then it bounces up and down hard and sometimes stalls. Quote
MaD Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 Idle Relearn: 1: With the car off, Remove the ECM Fuse for about 30 seconds. It's a 20 amp fuse located under the hood, in the Auxillary Battery Post/Fuel Pump Relay housing, on the Driver's Side strut tower, Then replace the fuse. 2. Make sure the A/C is OFF. Start the car and immediately put it into Overdrive, and hold down the brake. Let car idle in gear for 5 minutes, but no more than 7 minutes. 4. After the 5 minutes, Quickly Shift to park and put the ignition in the "off" position. (Shut the car off) 5. Let the car sit for 10 seconds. 6. Repeat step 2, and only step 2... 7. After the 5 minutes, shut off the car, your idle has been re-learned. -MaD- Quote
