Crazy K
age: 14, sex: yes please, location: living under the hood. Has a sexual fetish for hot asphalt, likes cool summer nights, long drives in the country. pet peeves: stop and go traffic, heat, antifreeze, and you... apparently. how about more info. what went wrong why has it gone bad? And I would really really really like to know if instead of installing a 3.43 (oem for 3.4) ratio tranny if a 3.33 (oem 3.1/3100) can substitute and work fine with OBD 1? Something I may consider with my own 95 CS, should it eat a tranny..
slick
Ken, yes you can do it. The speed may show incorrect though.
Crazy K
Ken, yes you can do it. The speed may show incorrect though. the speed will not, actually. the VSS sensor detects the final output speed at the differential, which is coupled 1:1 with the wheels. I understand you cannot do this in an OBD 2 car as it will think the tranny is slipping due to a mismatch of RPMs and speed. but for his car, running a 3.33 FDR tranny coupled to a 3.4 would lower the shift points but would make the car more fuel efficient in the long run... and mine with OBD 1.5...... I guess I will just have to try it!
