red95cutlass Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 No, its not a joke. It may be a stupid question but, I will ask it anyway. I have a 96 Cutlass Supreme 3100 with Mobile 1 in the oil pan with the pink/orange antifreeze. I just cant tell if they are mixing in the engine from a bad gasket or not. Is there any other way I can figure it out? I looked at the dipstick and looking through the holes in it, it looks like it has a pink hue. The oil pan level is the same as when I changed the oil. When I had the problem before the oil level was much higher. What is the black goop in the antifreeze overflow bottle? Any ideas? Thanks Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 Take off the oil cap on the valve cover. If the oil appears to be "milky" then your gasket is bad. When you take off that oil cap, and the oil looks like that, oil, then your gaskets are fine. Quote
jeremy Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Like Jay said, remove the oil cap....if it looks like the pics below then you are screwed Quote
