AWeb80 Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Where can i get the little filter that goes in the front. Kinda like the one pictured here. http://60degreev6.com/showthread.php?t=35359 ....and also, should I get one for the front and back, and how do you block off the hole in the plenum right behind the TB. ...or, should i just leave my PCV there. Doesn't it help suck blow-by out of the crankcase? Quote
dcjredline Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 We usually have them in stock at AutoZone Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Just leave the PCV in there. That breather does absolutly nothing that the PCV doesnt do. Quote

I was just thinking maybe keeping the oil outta the intake.... Yeah, that's why I have one. But on a 3100 you'd need that filter on the back valve cover, since the actual PCV valve is on the front cover. Quote
AWeb80 Posted January 8, 2007 Author Report Posted January 8, 2007 the pcv valve is on the front cover, but on the back it has a straight through hole....no valve.....I don't understand that one.... Quote
mfewtrail Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 How much oil gets in your intake Adam? It shouldn't be very much collecting in the intake. On my high mileage 3.1, there's only a little oily mist in the throttle body every few thousand miles. Quote

19Cutlass94 Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Now if you have a bad PCV valve, youll have puddles of oil in the intake, like I had with mine. But on the 3100 its so easy to check and replace. Quote

94CutlassXtreme Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 As long as the PCV system is working properly there shouldnt be much oil at all. Just be careful that little boot doesnt crack, happened to me i had so much oil shooting in it fouled a few of my plugs. Quote
