birdman
I have been thinking about the problem my car has been having and trying to remember what i changed when it started not starting or at least being hesitant to start after i have driven it up to temp and let it sit. the problem just came from nowhere in mid winter and has done it since. the only thing i can think of that i changed even around that time is the spark plugs. went from autolites to the cheap delcos. could those plugs cause those problems? its kinda a longshot but i dunno. thanks. DiscoStudd
Is it possible you bent one of the electrodes on the new plugs? I've had that happen before where the car ran shittier after I changed the plugs, only to pull the plugs again and find one with the "strap" smashed in... 19Cutlass94
Is its possible that the plugs can cause a car to not start. Like said above maybe the gap was wrong, but still its kind of a longshot.
chadz34
I have the same problem as birdman, and plugs don't do anything, I have changed them 3 or 4 times now and I still get that problem. I have tried different gaps....nothing to do with a no start condition. Even if the gap way wayyy off it owuld still start. If one or even two plugs were crappe dout it would still start. Plugs=no problem.

gp90se
My TGP had the no start issue, if I sprayed a little carb cleaner/starting fluid/rubbing alky into the intake, it would fire right up and have no problems. once it warmed up, it would be fine for a good while. Check the grounding, make sure they're not corroded, and you might want to do a compression check, just to make sure it isn't something more serious. ShockTherapy
maybe the ICM has gone out.
Rdrckt_92
that sounds like what mine is doing, but mine is a 3.1, Does it have any problem while you are driving it? any bucking or stalling?
gp90se
if you having bucking/stalling while driving, you have a bad coil or ICM, but if its only when starting, not usually a symtom

your TGP had a no start issue because it had a shorted fuel pump wire that put a hole in my block
gp90se
LOL I was waiting for you to chime in. it had the proper pressure at the rail the no start was something out. Had I had any clue about that shitty wiring, i would have repaired it when I did the pump with a 1/2 tank of fuel

birdman
the one thing i think it may be but havent messed with is the FPR. its too cold and rainy to mess with it but i just have a suspicion that it may be the problem. birdman
70-90 bucks. im going to get a new one and go over all the vac lines because its really coming down to that.
gp90se
not hard to test, one easy way is to get a piece of tubing that fits snuggly over the FPR vacuum fitting, suck on it and see if there is any fuel smell, which would indicate a bad diaphragm. I changed the one on my TGP, didnt fix it but good luck.

I still have weird idle problems, sometimes it stalls when I put it park too. It's making me super mad.....AND it idles higher when it's warm than it does when it's cold on startup....
