LuminaASG Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 I was just wanting to get an idea of what equipment and what type of cost it would be to be able to change the coding for the computer's MEMCAL.. I really know almost nothing about this topic but I have to get rid of the rev limiter on mine I've got a 4t60e trans with a 3.43fdr and a 3.06fdr chip. So I hit the rev limiter on it if I get into it (5250 RPM). Cadillac shift mapping sucks, anyway I also run kinda rich and would like to be able to tinker with some of the fuel settings if it's not too difficult.. I know Shawn had me talking to Ben who does 3.1 chips, and he said he'd look at mine, I just thought it'd be something nice to be able to do yourself.. Quote
Vegeta Posted October 5, 2002 Report Posted October 5, 2002 http://www.xtronics.com sells a pocket programmer for 150 bucks. You will need that and an adapter to stick the memcal into the programmer so you can read the data off the chip. From there...its a LOT of work to decode everything in order to find the fuel tables and spark tables and everything else. http://discussions.gmforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8393 http://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/promintro.shtml 34-Pin Wire-wrap protected header Source: Digi-Key PN: CHW34G-ND Price: $4.46 http://www.digikey.com/ Quote
