97loudcut
I will be installing my front Eibach lowering springs within the next to weeks. I want to by new struts and I am going to use the KYB's. Do I have to order the "boots" and "strut mount" as well? I thought all I needed was the front struts? 19Cutlass94
All you really need is the strut, HOWEVER, when you take it apart and get the spring out, just inspect everything and make sure nothing really looks bad and is in good shape. Cause if something is bad, you dont wanna take it apart twice.

19Cutlass94
This is your jounce bumper When you take the strut out, it will be on there, you cant miss it. Its right underneath the insulator.

19Cutlass94
Its not rubber. You an just use a razor blade to cut it.

Cam'ron
... overall weight of the strut assembly... foam makes more sense if it can do the job that otherwise a block of rubber would do
19Cutlass94
It just sits on the top of the strut shaft...

AWeb80
I believe I cut off the bottom half and put the top half back on thje new strut.
Cam'ron
yup... went right for a new wbody... no upgrading for me for clarification that jounce thingy isnt a "part" of the strut it is just like an isolator or bump stop kinda deal? Marchi1
I am in if you want another set of hands. Getting really good at doing this on the other rides I have had (cavalier and a Blazer) and will be my own upgrade soon, so see one, do one, teach one... and depending on the drop of the suspension you will need to cut "x" length out of the bump stop, normally close to the first recess. let me know.
