I'd say that is the flex fuel 3.1 myself. simply because their isn't anything else to choose from.

Motors you could get in the 1st gen lumina

1990: 3.1 VIN T

2.5 VIN R

 

1991: 3.4 DOHC VIN X

It can run gasoline with higher levels of ethanol. It also had "VARIABLE FUEL" stamped in the plenum.

That's weird...were there other cars that had this or was this kindof a step by GM thinking higher levels of ethanol would be put into fuel in the future or what?

are you absolutely certaine that its a P and not a T? I ran it through carfax and it shows that its invalid, but that it would be valid with a T instead

i think older Taurus' had that as well, at least i know I've seen some newer ones that are flex-fuel

so what ALL sets a flex fuel 3.1 lumina apart from a standard 3.1 lumina?
