Psych0matt
What do you think? I got a new ashtray cover, cuz mine had marks by the cig lighter, and so i cut this down, getting rid of the marks, and making it the right size. any ideas on how to mount/make it flip up or down? jeremy
I don't really care for the cover, functional or not
mra32
get one of those slow sprung hinges like the ones that come on the cheap calculators that push themselves up on the lid. i dont know if you know what i am talking about. but that would look really good. This is a better description: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6178085.html or take apart old sunglasses, like the ones that have the hinges that spring open real quick. you have two small, hinges that might work great depending on how much care is taken putting it all together. Psych0matt
yeah, i know what youre talking about. that's a good idea, i could probably buy one for a few bucks just for that. main concern then is how to latch it
mra32
velcro? that would be kinda cheap seeming. i dont know what you have going on in that area, but maybe magnets?
Dirty Rockstar
You could use the entire cover from that calculator and fiberglass/superglue/WTF ever it to your cover, then affix it to the sport pod..

Dirty Rockstar
Well, all the calc. cover needs to do is push on the door Matt has made.. I am thinking stick the calc. door to the door matt has made, then attach it to the sport pod.. No use just the calculator door as his door.. GnatGoSplat
I don't really care for the cover, functional or not I'm not really understanding the cover. You want info at a glance, not a press-pause-glance.

You want info at a glance, not a press-pause-glance. well, it was going to have a window in it, so basically the same idea as the aurora DIS. hides the buttons i guess. i dunno, it was just an idea and a use of time to screw around in the garage :-)
