J
he must not have a girlfried, or a house payment! For pace setters those look really nice
DiscoStudd
he must not have a girlfried, or a house payment! X2 So true, though! The first thought that entered my mind was "Yep, Terry definitely lives with his parents." . Guys (like myself) who have a "better half" and a mondo house payment tend to put stuff like that waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay at the bottom of the "priority" list (for obvious reasons!) But hey, to each his own. Have fun with your GTP man, while us "hooked-up" schlubs live vicariously through you!!!
digitaloutsider
This is why I'll never hav a "better half". Those pacesetters look damn nice.
terryk2003
yeah...i kept telling myself i was either gonna get a G/F or an intercooler this winter...i decided the intercooler, while a big investment to begin with, would probably be cheaper in the long run... EDIT: i'd also like to add that i work anywhere from 50-60+ hrs a week to be able to afford my toys...its not like someone is just giving me money to buy all this stuff...i bust my ass for it...besides, how i afford mods really isnt the point of this thread... Dark Ride
After I broke up with my girlfriend, people always asked me where my "better half" was, I said "You're Looking at it" Sweet Intercooler btw

dbtk2
Looks sweet, should wake your car up considerably. Those pacesetters look awesome....unfortunately I am very cheap so mine are uncoated and look like ass but they work well!!! Although, IMO I would've looked around for a used full size or just bought a new full size intercooler. A used one would probably cost the same as your SS and a new one isn't that much more, and they have MUCH larger gains. With a full size you would probably have no problems running a <2.8 pulley on that setup, I'd guess you'll be running a 3.1 or so with the SS. Just my $.02 though. FWIW, I paid $520 shipped for my full size.

BTW: i got the stage 2 heat exchanger upgrade, so i could just swap to the full size core down the road if i decide i need more...i just don't feel like having the s/c hit the hood... With the headers and the intercooler you should be close. You definately should be able to run a 3.1 with 1.9 rockers and the rest of your mods. Those headers are probably gonna make just as much of a difference in KR reduction as that intercooler. When I put my pacesetters and full size I/C on, I dropped 6 pulley sizes and added 3 degrees of timing. That was the only two changes. I can probably drop at least 1, if not 2 more pulley sizes once I get injectors. Also, with the full size your S/C should not hit your hood. My dad has the stage 3 core on his car (which is thicker than the stage 2) and he has a 40th anniversary so he has less hood clearance and his doesn't even hit. What fuel rails do you have and what actually hits on the hood? he has stock rails...thats what's hitting...it was the stud that bolts the engine cover on, but i ground that shorter for him...now the fuel rails themselves are rubbing... anywayz, i'm planning on getting the SD hood...soo, would a Stage 2 IC core clear that hood!?...i don't wanna use the cradle spacers or any of that BS...i just want something thats gonna fit... also, the IC isnt my solution to dropping pulley sizes...that is NOT the answer to skipping other important Supporting mods...thats just to optimize my setup...i wanna be able to run KR free, even in the 100* summer days... john99gtp
the fuel rails themselves, that bolt, my boost by pass valve all of it.
dbtk2
the fuel rails themselves, that bolt, my boost by pass valve all of it. If you do a proper intercooler install you shouldn't be using stock fuel rails. Although even with modded stock fuel rails I don't have a problem with clearance, but with a full size intercooler install, aftermarket fuel rails really should be used. If you do use modded stock rails the bolt in the middle isn't necessary and should be left out for clearance purposes, the four nuts that hold it on will be plent. Fuel rails should take care of any clearance issues because the BBV shouldn't be hitting the hood...i've never seen a car where it hit before...if thats hitting thats odd, you might try sliding the BBV down all the way in the mounting slots. john99gtp
pff, proper intercooler install. i think i would know how to drop something in between the LIM and the SC. its not that hard im sorry, im not made of a million bucks man, i took what i could get, alright? and everything hits. and i was told that full size ICs should clear even with stock rails, but then again, its my car, what else is new. and modified rails/fuel logs wont solve the problem, cause the bbv still hits and all, but whatever. 97loudcut
Nice Terry.. I figured there would be the "I got a wife and bills.. must be nice to have all that money" comments. Ignore them. I know you work some uber hours to pay for this shit. Go big or go home. It is alos nice to see your getting the good stuff and not that 1/2 ass cheap stuff.
