You'll find such words of wisdom such as these and more: On the V6 (non-turbo) box, I modified my v6 DOHC box by cutting the top of the tube inside the box to allow air to flow more readily accross a larger surface area of the filter. This also allows more engine noise to escape to our ears. My 3.4 had been running out of steam way too early, and I found the culprit was a shrunken inlet cone going to the box. I contorted it to stay at its maximum inside diameter, and with the help of a drop in K&N it then pulled to the stratosphere. Quote
