PCGUY112887
I was wondering why so much clunking started with my new Addco swaybar... look at what I discovered today! Where can I get a new replacement for this? [attachment deleted by admin] Removed to free up storage space.
GutlessSupreme
oh snap!
PCGUY112887
Hah yes oh snap! But seriously could someone make me a new one? One that goes all the way down the bushing bracket so it bolts into both holes... Seems like it wouldn't be too hard if you had some high grade steel, just make a strip and bend it around... then spot weld the flat parts together. GOT2B GM
You can buy one from the dealer. It wasn't that expensive when I needed one for my Z.
PCGUY112887
Humm anyone have a part # to look for? Would it be of any use to have a bracket that connects to both bolts on the bushing bracket or not?
blackbombshell95
Now he has the revised addco bar. I have the old bar. I used the factory center brackets along with the 10270253 bushing (22mm) which works perfectly. Will that setup work with the revised bar? Q-Ball
I've done that. Cept, after i got my replacement the other side broke too.
PCGUY112887
You've done what? Used the stock hanger with the new bushing on a revised bar? I plan on doing both sides... however my hangers are already cut so I'd have to get new hangers as well, so i'm looking for a part # for them. If it's too $$$ I think I'm just going to try to fab up a new hanger.
blackbombshell95
What is the part # for the factory center brackets on a 94-96 Grand Prix? IIRC a 3100 FE3 rear bar is 12mm. and a DOHC FE3 swaybar is 22mm. Are the center link brackets the same for both? Once again i'm using the monte carlo 22mm bushings for my center links. I went by GnatGoSplat's instructions and i've been worry free for 2 years now. But I forget If i ordered brackets from a dohc or a 3100 car? Or does it not matter? And once again will this even work on the revised bar. IIRC the revised bar moves back further away from the center links.
Pabz
Same thing happend to Skiirt, he may have the part number.

PCGUY112887
OK I went to the dealer and the guy pulled up the part # in a few seconds. #10259660 for the hanger. It was $15, with the 22mm "Insulator" the total was about $20 for 1 side. Will be here on Wednesday, I'll tell how it goes. If it goes well, then I'll order the same stuff from gmpartsdirect (half price there from GM list on this stuff) and do the other side. blackbombshell95
The insulator is the 22mm monte bushing that I told you about?
PCGUY112887
Yes, if you look up #10270253 (the number you listed earlier as the 22mm bushing) it calls it an insulator. You said it was rubber and flexy so it's probably not a true hard bushing but would work.
dohc v6
When I had trey at addco revise the bar he revised the inner brackets for me but he got tired of me complaining of the project and he did not make any more. I will post what he made me. they work awsome. And by the way with a lowered car the addco bar still hits the strut. Its just to big of a bar for that car if you lower it. I have a 4 in birchmount drop on my rear end and it does not matter what I did it always hit. I went back to stock and it fixed the clunk a lot but now I have bad strts and they are poping. blackbombshell95
My car is lowered in the rear and I don't hit anything. I never had an issue with it coming into contact with my ffp coilovers. My only contact issue was the center of the alignment arms contacting the bar over bumps. I then used an air hammer and removed the material on the center of the alignment arms to give more clearance.
dohc v6
Wow it sounds like it fits good if yo have to remove material from the car. Exactly why I got rid of that pic of shit. Also I have a 4 in drop what do you have.
blackbombshell95
At the time it was a 3" drop when I removed the material. It was lower than my ST springs. Now the rear is a bit higher than the st springs.
