Hey guys, just wondering if anybody could shed a little light on my problem at hand right now. I own a 90 Lumina Euro and i use my parking brake regularly on it. Not only because my driveway is slanted, but also because when i bought it last year it had a seized rear caliper and needed the whole parking brake replaced from front to back. Anyways, getting to the point, lately the park brake light started coming on intermittently when it was not really on. Now, it just stays on for good. I'm wondering if anyone else has had the happeded either because my father owns a 92 GP STE and he has had the same thing on his car (the light will never go off)

I have lubricated it in the spots indicated by the fix on this site because it was not catching all the time and it worked like a charm, but obviously its not helping with this particular problem.

My sisters car is acting up like that too, are you sure the brake cable is tight when it's fully released? This helps the parking brake pedal to go to the fully released position. If nothing else you could adjust the switch but I havent done that before

mine did that for a while too but it has stopped now. I would check to see if the little cable/contact/switch that triggers the brake light when the ebrake is active, is stuck in the ON position or maybe shorting out somewhere. Jiggle things around and such.

well, i'm not exactly sure how to adjust the switch so any info there would be appreciated. and as far as the cable being tight...it does have a little slack in it. but even when the ebrake is off, and i put the pedal in the fully retracted position so that there is no slack in it, the light still stays on.
