i used to have the common knock in morning with my 3100 and i added maxlife engine restore from valvaline and now it has gone away / really quiet ... dont know if i got lucky and it just went away but i would say for whoever has a 3100 and has this problem should try it. :o

I use Valvoline MaxLife 10W30 in the summer. I've been using MaxLife since it first came out just a little while ago. The only exception is during the winter when I switch to Formula-1 0W30 synthetic blend for the colder temperatures. I changed my oil last week and I used Quaker State Peak Performance for the first time. The only reason I used it was because it was on sale and I was low on cash. Other than that I think Valvoline MaxLife is one of the best oils available.

Maxlife is basiclly gasket softeners, vasoline and good quality oil.

Im a big fan of the lucas products (with the acception of the p/s stop leak that doesnt do a damn thing)
