sniperi311 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 i have a 93 cutllass supreme sl with dual exhaust from the factory, im considering either puttin a cat back system on there or just two mufflers and leaving the original cat and exhaust pipe on there, now couple questions, what size is my exhaust pipe from the factory (from the cat to the muffler) in case i just get two mufflers, and if i do get a new cat what size pipe would be too big or just right or should i just stick with the same size pipe thanx Quote
SmokesGTP Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Tape measure. Nah just kidding I beileve its 2.25 but It's a possibility I may be wrong. Going any bigger is not good for a 3.1 from what I've heard on here. Quote
Brian P Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 2.25" from catalyst to Y pipe, 2" from Y pipe to mufflers Quote
sniperi311 Posted June 1, 2003 Author Report Posted June 1, 2003 so if i wanted to put on two mufflers what would be the best way and best size, even though most say 2.25 in or 2.5 in? Quote
Brian P Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Ive seen plenty of 2" in, that would be the most direct fit without using the exhaust pipe adapters or bushings and multiple clamps Quote
Robby1870 Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 yeah, 2" or 2.25". Anything more is too big. Robby Quote
JS91Z34 Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 My exhaust is new from the manifold back. No cat. I'm running 2.5. Quote
