I came up with an idea. Since I found out my radiator is leaking I was going to get a used one. I can't seem to find one out of a 5 speed around here. So i'm going to use one out of an automatic. Could i use the old transcooler hook ups for a oil cooler. i'm not sure how hot engine oil runs but if the radiator runs cooler it could be a gain. Is this a feasable idea?

Cooler engine oil is always a good idea....espessically when its only done by coolant (185 degrees is just fine for engine oil). I say go for it.

One guy on a LT1 forum wants to remove his....talk about a bad idea.

i know they sell oil coolers but i thought using the transcooler would be alot less work and more innovative. i've been told warm oil temp is around 240 F if it would cool to 190 or 185 it would be a improvement.

Operating temp for oil is around 220degree F. You do not want it any lower, basically because you want it running at a temp that water boils. This is why normal temp for oil is in the range of 220F-260F Anything more than that, you need an oil cooler. Anything less than that, you need to heat it up.
