PCGUY112887
Ok so finally after almost 2 months of waiting for my sway bar from addco, I get it. However, it included a blank piece of paper. No instructions! I get most of it but I have parts that I'm unsure where they would go... parts that look like they would be performance end links and such, as if my rear bar was setup like this But it obviously isn't.... anyone have instructions or want to tell me what is what? blackbombshell95
Did you buy the poly bushings for the bar? DO NOT USE the bushings that came with the bar. The poly bushings from http://www.partsamerica.com are required if you want your bar to actually work. Addco Rear swaybar: Outers: 95158G X1 (22mm) gmpartsdirect.com Inners: 10270253 X2 (22mm) (use factory inner brackets)
PCGUY112887
Ummm why would it not work with the bushings that came with it? I got a SHITLOAD of stuff with the bar, I'm about to take some pics... appears that most of it isn't for my car. I saw how Awebb has his hangers setup, wtf are the cut rubber pieces and the piece of metal that is behind the U bracket? How is it supposed to work without ghetto riging it? blackbombshell95
your bar will slide right through the bushings. It will feel like you have almost no sway bar back there.

You will use your center link brackets and get the 2 inner bushings from gmpartsdirect.
PCGUY112887
I can't find ANY reason that I would have to have different bushings, I mean yeah they slide onto the bar but if they were any tighter you wouldn't be able to get them on. There is no way they could ship bushings with their stuff that didn't work. Here are pictures of all of the crap I got. Some of this stuff looks like endlink parts not even for my car. blackbombshell95
I have that same box of junk. Once you install the bar you will understand JUST what i'm talking about. now that is UNLESS they revised their bushings. You will take a corner real hard and your rear end will start to lean, sway, and twist. This was with FFP coilovers. And with the bushings I listed I didn't have that play. ASK Aweb80, his bar didn't hold into place. Better yet do a search. You will find lots here about that bar not staying still. Let me put it this way, with the car up in the air on a lift, i was able to move the bar back and forth 1.5"or so each way with just my 2 hands. blackbombshell95
About not being able to get teh bushings on, the poly bushings have slits in them so you can open them and wrap them around the bar snugly. I'm only suggesting that you get those bushings.
PCGUY112887
Well right now if I stick the bushing on the bar from the end, it won't move without me really pulling on it, and that's with a slight gap where the bushing splits. If I hold it tight like it would be with a bracket over it, I can't move it no matter how hard I try, and that's only my hand holding it not a bracket with a ton of force on it. Say I wanted to give what I have a shot, what exactelly would I use out of this mess? I can tell the brackets with no bends on them with the big holes on the ends are for the ends, but what would I use for the hangers? What would I use to bring it up to where that 1 bolt in the stock hanger is?
blackbombshell95
I don't know what to do for the center link(on the addco instructions). I just used my factory center link brackets and the 2 very cheap bushings from gmpartsdirect. Which are like $2.50 each

AWeb80
fwiw, the inner bushings were not holding the bar thight enough...they sorta rattled in the hangers...so i put some old innertube in there to make the bushings clamp tighter.... PCGUY112887
Ok i'm in the middle of working on it right now, have the end bushings undone and the hangers undone, but HOW in the hell do you get the stock bar out? We've tried and tried to push it around and force it out, but I can't see any way to get it out. Even if we do force it out, there is no way we can bend the new one around enough to make it get in there... Please tell me I don't have to remove a strut . PCGUY112887
Finally got the bar out, just took out those 2 big bolts and let the strut move up and down and got it in there. Now I have a MUCH bigger problem. On the ends, the brackets they sent me, DON'T FIT! The holes on the bracket (the only bracket that could work) are spaced out almost a half an inch too far from where they need to be. THIS HAS TO BE THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF BULLSHIT EVER! PCGUY112887
Well pray that Autozone has 22mm Energy Suspension bushings in stock, and pray that they fit becuase I have no other options aside from finding some replacement hangers in a junkyard and putting my stock bar back in. How bad is it to drive around (carefully) without a swaybar? If the Energy Suspension parts don't work, then I may have to do that for a few days. AWeb80
base w's come w/out a sway bar....you'll just notice more body roll and understeer......its not that bad.
PCGUY112887
Can you tell me if the energy suspension brackets fit? I think you use them no?
AWeb80
i did not use them.
PCGUY112887
Well I got it to work. Got the Energy Suspension bushings for the outers only (wanted to save some cash) and took them to my uncle (machinist) to be modified. He used some crazy laser guided machine that looks like a very advanced drill press just to make these slots for the bolts bigger on the Energy Suspension brackets but the same thing could have been done with a 5/8" drill bit and some time. Anyways got em on there, used the bushings that it came with for the centers and got it all tight. Drives GREAT! Took it to a parking lot and slid the car all around, it's so nice. Now for struts and such
Bossman429
So I guess that yours doesn't rub on the back sides of the struts like mine does, huh? I just picked up some Energy Suspension bushings for the ends of the bar. Might finish the install on Friday, It has a lot of clearance on the ground, just rubbed with the car in the air. Was yours powder coated black like mine came? Too bad I scratched the hell out of it installing.
blackbombshell95
I told you those bushings would work. All you had to do is hog the holes on the brackets that came with the bushings. Those bushings prevent the bar from sliding. Have fun
GnatGoSplat
I used all stock hardware and 96 Monte 22mm bushings. Worked out great.
