Bizzo
Hey guys....I did a rear brake job on my regal about 3 weeks ago and as of lately it's been making a clunking noise in the rear when I apply the brakes. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does it's usually when the car is slowing down below 30mph, and it seems to happen more frequently when making turns. I took the rear tires off and inspected the brakes and suspension and everything appears to be normal. Any ideas on what this could be? It's driving me nuts, also when it does it I can feel it in the brake pedal. I'd really like to get this figured out before the snow starts to fall here since I don't have a garage and I've got other maintenance items I'd like to get to. slick
Stock rear calipers I take it? Did you grease up the sliders when you did the brakes? The pre-94 brakes are notorious for seizing up.
Bizzo
Yeah i know all about the rear calipers seizing up, I did grease the sliders good and the pistons went back into the calipers with no problem. I don't think it's the calipers seizing because when it does make the clunking noise as soon as I let off the brake pedal it goes away. I don't know though I'm kinda stumped, I don't feel like replacing the calipers but if that's what it comes down to then I guess I gotta, any other idea's first?
