dbtk2 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 Was thinking about painting my 5 spokes gunmetal on my STE and was wondering if anyone has done this or could photoshop it for me or something. I think it would look pretty good, and while I like the color matched 5 spokes I have right now, they've been there for 2 years and its time for a change. (plus I'll probably run them on the GT too ) Thanks! Quote
5speedz34 Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 I think it wouldn't look good with the Maroon. Unless your looking for a dark gunmetal. Maybe I'm just thinking gray. Quote
no1kicker Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 I'd go silver over gunmetal. Quote
Psych0matt Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 I'd go silver over gunmetal. somewhere in between Quote
jeremy Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 i think that gunmetal would look 100x better then the red Quote
Euro Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 eww to gray body cladding on red car.... I think you should just stick with the stock silver on the 5 spokes Quote
dbtk2 Posted November 30, 2006 Author Report Posted November 30, 2006 Maybe if the body cladding was done in gray... EWWWW!!!! I just about throw up every time I see a maroon gp with gray cladding..... I think you should just stick with the stock silver on the 5 spokes I did not like how that looked at all. The Maroon, to me at least, looks way better than the stock silver. i think that gunmetal would look 100x better then the red Thats what I am thinking. I'd really like to see what it looks like before I do it, but I honestly think that if I went with a gunmetal it would look really good on there. I think it wouldn't look good with the Maroon. Unless your looking for a dark gunmetal. Maybe I'm just thinking gray. Yeah, I'm talking more of a dark gunmetal. Black is too dark but the stock silver is way too light....somewhere in between the two is what I'm looking for. Quote
5speedz34 Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Dark Gunmetal would look sweet, but I don't know if with those wheels. It would definetly need to be lowered. Quote
intern8tion9l Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 i agree on the gunmetal would be better than the red Quote
dbtk2 Posted November 30, 2006 Author Report Posted November 30, 2006 Dark Gunmetal would look sweet, but I don't know if with those wheels. It would definetly need to be lowered. I won't be changing the wheels because I like the 5 spokes, and honestly I like them in red, I just think its time for a change. I know that there are plenty of other wheels that would look really sweet on the car in gunmetal, but for what I'm looking to spend its not really an option. Plus then I'd have to switch the tires over and whatnot. (and I should be able to paint them without having to take the tires off...at least I think so) In all honesty, the main reason I am wanting to do this is because I'd also like to be able to run them on my '99 and the gunmetal should match both cars pretty well I'm thinking. I also agree it would look better lowered, but due to axle issues these have with 5 speeds, and when I finally have the time & money to actually get to working on it, it will be a 5 speed, I don't want to have to worry about that. TurboSedan Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 i don't really like the wheels in body color (that only works on a white, black or gray car IMO). they sorta make the car look like it's wearing leg warmers. i would go with silver. Quote
Andrew Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 i don't really like the wheels in body color Me either. gun metal FTW! Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 I don't care for the red wheels either. silver/gunmetal/wahtever FTW Quote
