stiv2k Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 So when doing my intakes the other day, I had to pull off the coolant by-pass pipe coming out of the water pump. It previously had liquid gasket on it, does anyone know if there is a real gasket I can use, what it's called and where I can find it? It's in between the by-pass pipe and the top of the water pump. Thanks! Quote
Robby1870 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Yeah, there's a real gasket. I think it's called coolant outlet gasket or coolant by-pass gasket. EDIT: I'm looking for a pic. http://www.rockauto.com calls it a Engine Coolant Water By-pass Gasket I know Advance carries them; I've bought them from there before. I couldn't find it on their online catalog. Quote
stiv2k Posted November 27, 2006 Author Report Posted November 27, 2006 Is it this by any chance? http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=NEA&mfrpartnumber=800&parttype=109&ptset=A Quote

I've circled the the gasket below. Pic is kinda big. The gasket is the shape of where the by-pass tube meets the timing cover. It'll have one hole in the center for coolant flow, then two smaller holes on each side for the bolts. You'll have to excuse the dirty engine. I just changed a leaky water pump, so there's still a lot of crud left from that. [attachment deleted by admin] Removed to free up storage space. Quote
Euro Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 yeah, im pretty sure AutoZone carries that gasket too. I'm not 100% sure if they sell JUST that gasket, but we got that in a kit of gaskets from AZ. Also, just be careful of those bolts!!!!!!! they're brittle as shit! Quote
stiv2k Posted November 27, 2006 Author Report Posted November 27, 2006 yep that's the gasket I need but I can't find it at advanceautoparts.com I wish I could get a part number or something so I know what to ask for when I go to the store Quote
