digitaloutsider Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 So long story short, we're teaching my brother to drive, and he smashes my mom's Regal into a curb at around 20-25, and then proceeds to smash the gas pedal. This is the result: Anyway, it's destroyed the wheel and the tire. But now, there's a weird vibration/extremely light rubbing-type noise coming from the left front side of the car. Chris and I think it's the wheel hub/bearing. Any second opinions? Quote
1990lumina Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 does it still drive straight down the road? Quote
digitaloutsider Posted November 26, 2006 Author Report Posted November 26, 2006 Surprisingly, yes. Quote

Regal_GS_1989 Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Shit, that sucks. looks like you shoulda put the sawblades on it before he got behind the wheel Quote
digitaloutsider Posted November 26, 2006 Author Report Posted November 26, 2006 damn thats bad mine wasnt that bad whad u do? About two weeks after I got my license, I proceeded to smash the car into a curb going sideways at like 45 MPH. Destroyed the strut tower, wheel, tire, control arm, subframe. Fixed it and drove it for another year. Shit, that sucks. looks like you shoulda put the sawblades on it before he got behind the wheel I know, right? Quote
jdcutty Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Looks like it's gonna be a task, teaching him how to drive. That suck though, at least it wasn't a chrome one. Quote
99RegalGS Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Ouch, sorry to see that. If the car still goes pretty straight I would check the hub bearing like you were thinking. Is that wheel still holding air? It honestly doesn't look that bad to me. Better then the old Wheel/tire that my Regal had when I got it, and put 50k miles on the tire before it was worn. lol Also, I know where 2 of your sawblades are!!! Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Goddamn it shaun...why didn't you use the fucking LS that your family has instead? Btw, if it drives straight, I don't think there's a problem with the subframe. Quote

Umm, yeah probably wheel bearing but I would check everything out. Quote

Brian P Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 wheel bearings on gen-2's are rather sensitive/ weak and yes it could be the source of your problems. Quote
5speedz34 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 wheel bearings on gen-2's are rather sensitive/ weak and yes it could be the source of your problems. Yeah, they suck. $150 for new ones. Check ebay, prices are pretty good on there. Quote
Euro Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 that sucks man! I'm just glad my 16 year old brother hasn't done that in any of our cars yet Quote
