rockfangd
ok so i know there are probably a few threads posted about this one but my 94 cutty 3100 has a bad hydraulic motor mount on the passenger side bottom of the engine. i really need to know how to change this mout properly and how difficult of a job is it. p.s. does anyone know where i can find a good deal on one. thx
1990lumina
Napa has both the oil filled..and the solid rubber mount....both are for a good price (solid one is cheap, and i'd recommend buying it since being solid it can't leak ever again).. rockfangd
is there a difference in reliability
Miko K
Definetelly get the solid one, reliability is much better, set the e-brake, set the car on a jack stand, remove the passener side wheel, undo the bolts on the bottom of the mount, raise the engine, undo the top mount bolts, put the new one in, lower a bit, check which way you have to ream the holes and lower(99% the aftermarket mount will not fit the existing holes) and done. 5speedz34
Personally, I would not get the solid for a daily driver, since it will cause more vibration in the long run. Not to mention, its rubber it will wear out. I think mounts are *supposed* to be replaced every 100k or so.
19Cutlass94
Ive been running a solid rubber mount for almost 20k now, and its ALOT better than the hydraulic mount. I have the FFP mounts so really, theres no difference in vibration. But the aftermarket mount *should* fit into the stock holes. I know when we put Johns motor in his car, we had to fight with it to get it in, but it did fit.
rockfangd
now by reaming the holes you mean enlarging. and i see the 2 bottom bolts but hw do i d the top and how many bolts

I had one laying around the house that was taken right from a GM engine plant display model but now I have no idea where it is at.
