Supreme Cutlass
There should be a little o-ring on the IAC.
Mach 5
There is no way that engine will run like a top w/o that gasket. Im sure you could get one for like 50 cents
White93z34
jesus sean, before you go killing yourself at least call me over. so you at least provide me some entertainment before you send yourself (and the regal) into next week i dono the throtle on the car has always been abnormaly stiff. if it were up to me i'd get a different TB alltogeher, so you aren't fighting that goofy ass butterfly spring. ns87
You can unbolt that reservoir. I did it when I did my coil packs. Just unbolt the two bolts and carefully lift it up and place it on the left side of the engine bay

Actually, wd-40ing the TB worked pretty good, it's not as stiff as it was. Still bad though. Hey, why couldent i do some work? It's runnin better than it ever has! hey, hit me up on IM, we should make a JY run and get some coilpacks and such. I got some $$$ to blow. Crazy K
replace the TB, with another one. Chris, why don;t you snag him the part and STARE at him till he goes ahead and puts in in his car? thats what is called using PEER pressure!!! and show him the 3.1 type reservoir, it goes on the right side and takes no more space than the crappy black shrouding that is there currently. assuming the studs to retain the tank are there, the only other part needed to put thje 91+ reservoir on is the fuse box surround which was resigned to not have the tabbed retainers to hold the crappy black plastic shrouding. (or cut them off in 20 seconds with a hacksaw)
White93z34
"running better then it ever has" dosen't say much if anything for that car. liquid gasket? what are you thinking? i mean some things its OK to do half-ass. but come on now. also the 91+ coolant bottle is so much worth the upgrade, i HATE pulling that stupid coolant bottle on the early cars. so i'd grab a new TB, not worth messing with the old one, exp with that screwy return spring. get a new pump drive seal and call it a day. THe_DeTAiL3R
I love being able to SEE the coolant level easier on my 95 than on my 88 GP.
CuttySup
Maybe if you ask it nicely it will run like a raped ape...
94CutlassSLCoupe
the throttle pedal used to stick on our 88 CS with the 2.8...i could swear it was the throttle cable...but i'd put the tb in some parts cleaner (no sensors hooked up) for a few days and see what that does. 1990lumina
I don't mind the coolant res. on my Lumina...it's not really in the way at all for me..i just unscrew it and let it hang there by the hoses it's connected too...always gives me lots of room lol
88Regal Limited
I actually perfer the "cleaner" look the engine bay has with the smaller fluid resivior. I dont like huge, discolored plastic bottles in my engine bay. This one being green anooys the hell out of me, I cant imagine a dirty white one. Car's running good (as it will), just waiting on an owners card and it should be inspected. Seemingly, mine expired before I went to get inspection, so I couldent get a new sticker on it if I tried. I just want this on the road for the snow, will make a good winter beater. I just hope it passes without putting too much money into it. Just had the rear brake lines replaced (thx chris) and that was a pretty penny. Maybe if you ask it nicely it will run like a raped ape... Gods grace couldent help this motor, ask Chris. (white93Z34) Hopefully by spring, I will have this baby up for sale. Anyone need a winter beater for next year?
White93z34
in all reality it dosen't need much to run good, needs some tires last i checked, a good0 tune up and it should be alright. oh and the trans sticks gears in cold weather. i'm all for selling it off and finding something that isan't so "limited" option wise.
