smokey exhaust

my exhaust has developed somewhat of a greyish/whiteish color to it, might just be my emajination, but if it isn;t what could it be and how could i prevent it, i got a 1993 Cutlass S Coupe 3100v6.

notice any loss of coolant lately? Check your coolant level and check to see if your oil looks like chocolate milk(what it looks like when coolant mixes w/ oil).

White/grey smoke usually means coolant is getting into the combustion chamber especially if the exhaust smells "sweet". Could be a number of things, headgasket, cracked head...

Do a compression check, and look at the oil as well.
