GrandAmSE Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 I hate having them under the exhaust. How do I relocate them? Quote
Robby1870 Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 You'll have to find a place you want to move them to and a way to bolt them down where you want them. Then, you'll have to lengthen all the wires that run to the ICM (the thing the coils attach to). Quote

slick Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 http://www.w-body.com/forum/index.php/topic,17731.0.html Wow, suprised this thread didn't get deleted when we lost some info a long time ago. Basically, I pulled apart the harness's, found the wires I needed, reclosed the harness's, lengthened any I needed to, loomed them up, and set them on there way. The only bad thing about them there is that they did trap debris(small pebbles sand in size, I'm sure water hit them constantly causing a shorter life). If you do decide to mount them there, I recommend making some sort of plastic shield to protect debris and water from hitting them. Quote
Psych0matt Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 I like where mine are. lemme find a pic... theyre under the cover on the left. I thought I had a pic witout that cover, but i guess not. I can take a better one if you want. they stay nice and cool there, and are so easy to change. I had to change one two days after it was relocated Quote
GrandAmSE Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 Yeah if its not a PITA I'd appreciate it. Quote
Psych0matt Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 I'll go get one or two right now then. EDIT: You like the fusebox mount? I cut up a cheap small garbage can! I need to redo it right, but that worked how it looks when covered Quote
GrandAmSE Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 I think I picked my spot. How many wires did you have to lengthen? Quote
Psych0matt Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 I'm not sure, as it was done along with my engine swap. I wasn't the one who did that part, so i cant answer that Quote
5speedz34 Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 FWIW: If you do the 96+ intake swap, you can mount the coils up top, since in 96 they moved them. Quote
GrandAmSE Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 I have a 96 intake and have been think about swapping it. Quote
