Psych0matt Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Ken, i guess this is first directed toward you, but also to others owning them. I have some webspace that I can use, and I was thinking about making a page that basically has a single pic of each persons car with their name/screenname by it, and you can click on it to go to their "registry", or sub page with pics, info, and the like. If i could get something like that organized, would you guys be in? It'd be cool to see how many people here actually have verts and what all they look like. Quote
Crazy K Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 that is kind-of a goal i have, but i wanted to wait about a month, until i gathered a little more info about my own cars.... specifically the RPO codes. my thought: collect vin numbers and rpo codes for any and every cutlass vert info can be gathered from. I know some may not wish to share their VIN, but I am interested to know if verts have a numerical sequence, and spring codes and the like. plus options. for right now, I have what you have specifically asked about quasi-covered in the convertiholic thread.... Assuming you post a pic. so if you have a post there, I welcome simple pics added to your post!!! Meanwhille, please get your RPO codes from a dealship using your VIN, or find your spid tag on your spare tire cover, and verify that it matches your car VIN since they are prone to being washed involuntarilly. p.s. the idea of a vert registry is the entire reason this sub-forum was launched, thus something i want to do too. got the bandwidth? we gotta make it a go. Crazy K Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 UPDATE! found a source of vert VIN codes, so I am going to copy them into a notepad later today. But I'm not going to publicize them, only the results. and I plan to get my spid info later this week. may I ask if people would be comfortable sharing their VINs? or would you rather post them in a 1234xx format? mixe olds Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 I would like to sign up for the registry. What are the negitives of sharing VIN codes to other? I have no problem sharing the VIN code right now. Quote
Psych0matt Posted November 13, 2006 Author Report Posted November 13, 2006 i dont really either. Ken, what would be the bad part about that? Quote
Crazy K Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 well. e-bay keeps vins public... so does a site that has long standing auction histories. a decision.... knowing of several schemes that involve the use of VIN info, I want to protect our members..... so... how about PM me to be added to the database, but I will reveal only the last six of the vin once I get the project completed? does that work?
