Psych0matt
Mine is the only 94 3.4 DOHC Cutlass anywhere (I think) with a fully functional DIC, including all the fuel econ functions, and it's spot-on accurate, unlike the factory one in my 89. i know ive asked you this like 12 times, shawn, but what do i need to do to get mine working? since i have the truck now I could easily send you a computer, or i could get my dad to burn an eporm or whatever. Crazy K
sorry, it was off topic so I had to take the liberty of moving it.. and giving it a proper title. But it is an excellent question worth knowing the answer to. I believe that shawn made it so the data stream added more data, or two way data, which the DIS/DIC requires. and I'd like to point out that the DIC is really a DIS, as it says Digital Information System on the front! back to topic please... (and this should belong an a different part of the forum too.)

No if you want to add it to a 94+ Cutlass the MPG function won't work. So he's asking how to get it to work.

GutlessSupreme
Avg MPH never worked well for me either, when that I had that installed in my car sclary. It seemed to be pretty consistent with other units so I just ignored it.
89GP_SE
there should be a reset button, while driving press your mpg button, then hold the reset button until it goes back to that main screen thingy, wait a couple of minutes then check it again, it should change
GutlessSupreme
yea but it still won't average right. from what I understand it's a constant equation, like whenever the car's on. so like if you're sitting at a stoplight, it factors in 0 for all the seconds you're sitting there. I got my chip from Shawn today, and popped her in, and it seems to work very well. My only problems i still have, which i assume from the unit itself, is that the trip counter doesnt work right, and it still says low fuel range almost all the time. it does, however, say like 56 miles left and some other numbers close if im flipping through things, but that was with half a tank. im gonna try and grab another one sometime and check it out, cuz I've always thought this unit was a little screwwy the thing with the trip counter, is that i can put that i have a 2 mile trip for example, and it wont count down hardley at all. I remember one trip i put like 100 miles, and like two weeks later it beeped at me saying i had arrived! My average miles per hour work, so i know its hooked up right. sclary18
so heres my question, how do you make a DIS function AT ALL? today it just blew up and ent insane beeping loud and fast and a big blurr on the screen and i tried restsrting the car a couple of times and i got pissed off and ended up breakin the mounting and puching it through and just cutting the ground wires..
