Another old hot rodder tip is to use Type F (old Ford) transmission fluid. It's a little less slippery, and will cause marginally firmer shifts. Looks like I need to get busy with the 3M Trim adhesive, eh? Quote

Robby1870 Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 the vacuum modulator is what controls shift firmness. It uses engine vacuum to do this. With an adjustable modulator, you can adjust your shift firmness, which is what a "shift kit" will do. However, if you have a 4T60E this wont work. Only 4T60s and I guess 3T40s would be able to do this Robby Quote
