davecww1 Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Hi everyone, I'm a new guy on the site, driving my 95 Lumina as a daily driver, Been having ABS problems for a while, since it is a 1995 model (OBDI transition type I was told) the local AutoZone cnnot read the ABS codes. Both the brake and ABS lights are on, and I cannot properly bleed the brakes at this time. I purchased a new ABS computer but cannot find where it is located. I read several locations, beneath passengers seat, inside drivers side fender or inside passengers side dash. Anyone know for sure? I hope this will fix it, if not, can I just attach a master cylinder from a 95 lumina without ABS nd not plug in the harness? Will this give me normal brakes again? Thanks, Dave Quote
Crazy K Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 abs computer on 92+ cars shouold be in the fender well. you should be abel to see a bit of it looking towards the front thru the dorrjamb/fender gap. Quote
davecww1 Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 So How do you get to the computer? I tried looking through the door jamb into the fender but there is a black plastic or rubber seal, and I see no way to get inside the fender from the engine compartment. Is it on Drivers side near the master cylinder? Does the fender have to be removed to access this? I looked under the passengers seat, found there is a air bag control module on that side, not an ABS brake computer! Thanks, Dave Quote
