they should be the same basic motor. As far as the placement of accessories and stuff, they are different. So, it would be pretty hard, Im assuming to put a 3800 from a F-body into a W-body

the motor mounts are different, and you'd need a different adapter plate for the transmission, and you'd need to change the placement of the accessories.... at least I think the motor mounts are different, I don't know, since I haven't had a chance to take a good look at both, but I'm pretty sure you'll need an adapter plate for the tranny... but, if it works, and it's REALLY cheap, you could always buy it, and if it looks like it doesn't fit, sell it and make a profit.... generally, though, REALLY cheap engines mean something is wrong... try and get it checked out a bit first....

Probably more trouble than it's worth... Starter will probably be on the wrong side, I know it was on my Ventura. Yes, my 1977 Ventura came with a 3.8. They also use a different intake, I really doubt if they suck air in through the rear of the intake manifold, like on a FWD.

so basically, it's not worth it. i'll probably still buy it and sell it off to someone else. i know it's a good motor as it belongs to a friend of mine so i could probably make some money

Yeah, good idea, it'd be only good for resale, as you'd have to strip it down pretty much to the heads and block, as everything else is different.
