97loudcut
IMHO unless you plan on an engine swap somewhere down the road the weight of the AC still wont change the fact that you have a 16-17 sec car. Leave it in because when you go to sell it people want AC
19Cutlass94
Its only about 20-30lbs total, and when your not using your A/C, theres such little drag that your engine doesnt notice it. Its not worth it to take it out.

AFAIK all W-bodies had AC. although maybe some of them sold up in Canada didn't? when i deleted my AC i mainly did it to make room for a FMIC later on but also to clean up the engine bay - it's now easier to replace/reach the starter, oil pressure switch, coilpacks etc. besides i hardly ever used AC anyway and it was out of refridgerant. i used the GM non-AC pulley ordered for an '88 Corsica with a 2.8L and no AC and then went and bought a serpentine belt from Checker for the same Corsica application. works great. since you have a 3100 things might be different for you. 89GP_SE
the old 3.1 motors, in 88 the pontiac grand prixs had optional ac. after 1989 all w's came with ac stock. so you would have to find an ac delete pully.

Guest TurboSedan
they do sell those u know. IIRC it cost me about $23 from my local GM dealership: http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/DSC01668.JPG comes with the bolt unlike the ones you can buy at Checker/NAPA etc. http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/DSC01669.JPG http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/DSC01670.JPG mounting hole location (3.1 MPFI of course): http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/DSC01678.JPG installed: http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/DSC01679.JPG and yeah all of this stuff doesn't weigh very much: http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/DSC01454.JPG that pic doesn't include the compressor but that's still maybe only 10lbs. birdman
i meant a kit that actually sits in place of the ac compressor so you can use the stock belt size. both do the same thing.

GIANT MOTH
I think you still use your stock belt with that pulley. Someone on here before left the part number from like Autozone. If you do a search on here you might come across it. I never use my AC. ACs are for crybabies.
