bartonmd
Hey, I'm getting snow tires and wheels for my '92 Euro, and was going to get the 15" wheels/tires, because they're $75 cheaper for the set, but I want to make sure that I can mount them up directly to the '00-05 Impala we are going to get, hopefully by next year... DiscoStudd
I'm gonna say no. The rotors are a bit larger on the 2G's, which is my guess as to why the base model Impy comes with 16" steelies. If it were me, I'd play it safe and get a set of 16's... I also did some more searching and found out that the Imlapa wheels have a different offset by something like 1/4", so if I get the 16" wheels for the 1.5gen, then they won't be "right" for the later models... I am thinking right now, that I'm just going to get the tires alone, and mount them on my stock wheels (16" alum) for this winter, then mount my 3-season tires back on in the spring... I've got the Harbor Freight manual tire changer, and have done a ton of motorcycle tires for myself and others, but was worries about doing the 55 series 15's for my wife's Neon, but it turned out that even lower profile car tires are WAY easier to mount than sportbike tires! That way, I am only out the $3.00 each at the local shop to balance them, rather than the $12 each to M&B... Thanks, Mike
