Guest TurboSedan
must not be a 6000 since he said no A-bodies. L-body Beretta/Corsica? a Citation?

mfewtrail
another idea that people have talked about in the past (but has anyone ever actually done it?) - get a 3400 block, throw a 2.8 crank in there with custom forged pistons to make a big bore/short stroke 3.0L 60*V6 that will rev like a mofo with a 7 grand redline. of course you'll need to spend some bucks on the valvetrain. with a short stroke & larger bore you could get rid of some of that torque and gain horsepower which would be great for traction. i imagine an engine like that would love a nice big turbo That's what I suggested about 11 posts up. I think it would be the funnest engine, especially since it would rev pretty quick and have a higher redline. Curtis spins his 3.1(3.2 actual displacement I believe) to 8 grand..so you don't necessarily need the 2.8 crank and all if you're shooting for a higher rpm engine. Jeff, you gonna put it in a Calais? Guest TurboSedan
Calais are cool! i wanted to buy this one soooo bad a couple years ago: http://www.turbosedan.com/misccars/90_Calais_HO_Q4-11.jpg black 1990 Cutlass Calais International sedan - 1 of only 214 sedans produced with the HO Quad-4! that car would have been so awesome with low comp forged pistons and a nice big turbo & FMIC...keeping the Q4 of course. BUT...did they ever even come with a 60*V6? are you gonna need fab up custom engine & trans mounts?
kuntzie
ya custom work will need to be done.. it will be worth it though.
skalor
Well, if all 282s use the same case then you should be able to use the Calais 282 trans mounts if you wanted to use a 282. Otherwise, I think they share the same mount as a 2.3 W-bodies so I would look into that.

Guest TurboSedan
do the extreme including cutting the upper intake open to fully port and polishing it, then rewelding it. (not me getting it done though) i just re read this (and i'll get this back on topic ) but why not just get the plenum and LIM extrude honed instead? i would imagine cutting open the plenum and rewelding it would make it look like shit afterwards. any more thoughts on the bottom end?
