Guest TurboSedan
there are two versions right? what's the difference? and will either one interfere with my clutch fluid reservoir or would i have to relocate that to use it? i'd prefer to use a factory fitting part, and i don't want to use the Buick F-bar on the Cutlass. any other alternatives for a front STB? intern8tion9l
the one for the 2nd gen 3.4 is a box tube one. the 1st gen ones for the 2.8/3.1 wouldn't clear. the 1st gen round tubular one will def fit, and for this reason i assume the 2nd gen will fit as well. personally i think the 1st gen one is weak in both appearence and functionality. f-bar FTW

GutlessSupreme
I remember asking about this a while ago.. I have the boxed-bar 3.4 STB and I'm pretty sure people were telling me it would clear the clutch reservoir, because I though it looked like it'd be awefully close. I couldln't say anything about the earlier, tubular bar for the 2.8/3.1s though.
5speedz34
I always thought there was only one style for the 3.4 bars. I have one in my basement that I need to get powdercoated. I was always under the impression that it will fit.
intern8tion9l
so i take it your F-bar fits with the clutch fluid resesvoir no problem? i may just go this route. yeah i thought it was going to be an issue as well, but it clears fine. close, but fine. however, i have the zzp brackets which may or may not hold it up a little more than just drilling out the plates, so that might be something to look into. and it def has to be removed to take the cap off the resevoir
digitaloutsider
The 3.4 bar clears the resovoir with absolutely no problems, I can attest to that.

Guest TurboSedan
if someone has a 'vert STB for sale at a decent price, let me know. otherwise i'm pretty sure i'm going with the Buick F-bar & ZZP brackets. i never have to remove the clutch fluid reservoir cover anyway so that's not an issue. thanks everyone. GutlessSupreme
I know this is a "vert" specific bar, but personally I think the STB topics should stay in the regular suspension forum.. a lot of people won't be looking for them here.
