GutlessSupreme Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I seem to vaguely remember a past topic about somebody putting a newer multi-function lever or one out of a different car into an '88-'94. Does anyone have any info on this or am I just making this up? Quote
R Dubya Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 combination switch, multifunction switch, aka turn signal switch w/ cruise control. I've never heard of it but would be interested seeing that thread. Quote
slick Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Oh, gotcha. Totally crossed my mind as to what he was talking about. But.... you know, I thought I read that on here as well. Quote
DiscoStudd Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I think it would work. I've swapped MF levers on a number of GM's in the past (the older ones with the skinnier "washer" paddle would wear out the cruise switch's wires, so I'd locate one with a larger opening) and the levers will physically interchange. The only problem might be how the cruise is wired in. Some of the older GM's ran the cruise wire straight down the column, but most of the 90's models had a plug on the wiper switch for the cruise harness, so the wiring was alot shorter. FWIW, I had the MF lever on my parent's 92 Cutty Convert out a couple of weeks ago when I was repairing the signal switch, and it appeared to me that the cruise wiring harness plug was identical to the one on the 1.5G's, so I say it'd work.
