PCGUY112887 Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 I was wanting to get some purdy red MSD wires on my car and was hoping to find some direct-fit ones for my 96 3100, but wasn't able to. However... if I look up a 96 Grand Am with the 3100, MSD has a direct fit set. Woulden't these be the exact same things and should work fine? Anyone know of any other brand that offers some nice red direct fit wires that are cheaper than $60 MSD wires? Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 ummm you can make your own..... but taylor has them as well... Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 i'd get Magnecor KV-85 wires (8.5mm) VERY high quality and they do make a set for the 3100. i have them on my Turbo Cutlass and my GTS Turbo and i love them. perfect fit. check http://www.ultrarev.com - they also have an ebay store. PCGUY112887 Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 Thanks for the suggestion, I think i'm going to go Taylor however, performancecenter has a red 8mm set for $30. They have "409" wires as well, which are 10.4mm, looks fairly crazy but from the description it sounds like just their 8mm wires wrapped in 2.4mm of heat resistant fiberglass and such. Doubt that's worth more than $60 for me. Should work fine for a GP even though their marked as 96 V6 Grand Am right? Also has anyone ever got any gains from MSD coils? Edit - just found these... http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=tay-82200 Quote
Robby1870 Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Na, stick with stock coils. They do a fine job. Quote
