90TURBO Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Where is the cruise control module located on these cars? Also, this car feels real 'loose' in the suspension system. I've checked it over, can't find any components loose. I had it aligned, they couldn't find anything either. It also has a clunk in the front when going over bumps. They thought that might be the CV joint, but it doesn't 'click' when turned hard either way. Anybody seen this before? Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 below the steering column....that box right there.... http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/DSC02558.JPG Quote
FordBoy Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 There is a recall on front end bolts 4 of them i think that is the clunk i had the same thing. Quote
90TURBO Posted October 18, 2006 Author Report Posted October 18, 2006 Thanks for the info on the Cruise! Do you know what 4 bolts that might be? Quote
FordBoy Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 They hold the front suspention to the frame. I cant really explain where they are. Sorry. Quote
slick Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 They are the cradle mounts. You can pick up the new bolts and all the bushings from GM. I don't have a PN off hand, but I'm sure someone will chime in. Quote
90TURBO Posted October 19, 2006 Author Report Posted October 19, 2006 Hmm, never thought about cradle bolts. Will have to look at that. Has anyone had a 'wandering' sort of problem due to them? Do they rust or just fail? Quote
FordBoy Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 The bushing dry crack and fall apart adn the bolt will soon break from wear. They were on recall for my cutty dont know about your though. Stop at a dealer and ask. The name of them was on the tip of my tongue "smooth move slick" remembering that. Quote
mannix Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 My car is also having a "floaty" feel on when going over 45 mph. I've tried driving on the expressway, and the car seems to rock from side to side (road was not even bumpy). I've had this problem for a few years, and had the dealer replace the rear leaf spring, and all the struts. They did not replace the strut mounts in the rear though. The car has been checked out at several locations, tie rods check out fine. The shop guys also suggested a wheel alignment. I'll have to check out these bolts to see if that is the problem. Quote
Garrett Powered Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 lower ball joints and new rack. you wont regret it. Quote
