DTakas
I have a ’96 Olds Cutlass Supreme with a 3.1 V6. Recently the check engine light came on so I stopped at Autozone and they told me it was the TPS. I unplugged the connector and it was full of oil. I took the TPS off and there was oil in it too. I cleaned it out as best as I could but I can’t figure out how I’m getting oil up there to begin with. I can’t see any oil in the throttle body. Since I cleaned it up it’s running better now (was idling at 2000-2500 RPMs). I’m just wondering if this is indicative of a larger problem. Supreme Cutlass
How long has it been since you changed your PCV valve? that would be my guess. A little oil coming through the TB is absolutley normal, but not necessarily filling it up. (btw, it's a 3100, not a 3.1)
Robby1870
Pull your PCV valve off and shake it. If it rattles its good, if it doesnt it's bad.
Supreme Cutlass
IMO you might as well replace it, it's not very expensive.

ron350
Check the other wiring connectors on the top of the motor for oil. Fluid can travel through wires from sending units under the right conditions.

And since its a 3x00, is also the easiest 60* PCV to replace...
