Pabz Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Well, i haven't recharged the AC ever, so just latley i have noticed that sound that most old boats have with the squeak/whining sound when the serpentine belt is old, and i hate that sound, it is only making that sound above 30 KM/h and NOT when idle. Maybe its the A/C so i am gonna buy a smaller serpentine belt and check it that way, any other ideas what itt might be, and if it is the A/C how could i fix this, i don't think i will get it recharged anytime soon since its the old r-12 refrigerant kind. What size serpintine belt would i need?? to bypass the A/C Quote
Redfox340 Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Well, the A/C doesn't need a recharge when its squeaks, that's just bearings. But even that's rare on A/C. This could go no where but check you water pump... those whine when they are dying out. - RedFox340 Quote
Robby1870 Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Bearing on the alternator will whine before it craps out Robby Quote
